The Azur Classic Cabernet Sauvignon is a beautiful expression of the Napa Valley. A mixture of valley floor and mountain fruit blend together to create a pure Cabernet.
This wine manages to have a depth of flavor while maintaining an aromatic freshness. The variety of vineyard sources highlight bright, red cherry as well as dark hints of cassis to create a diverse combination of flavors which excite the palate.
The Azur Reserve is made in the classic bordeaux style, balanced with the rich fruit offered by the napa valley terroir. The grapes are selectively chosen from the hillsides of Napa to highlight concentrated black fruits. Every bottle has a complex combination of blackberry and currant expressions with a refreshing brightness which leads into lingering tannins.
The wine exhibits a deep garnet hue in the glass. Our first impression is WOW, just wow. Aromas are expansive and bright throughout - concentrated, ripe and layered. Strong aromatics of dark berry, cedar, spice, cherry, cinnamon and toasty French oak give complexity and opulent appeal. The 2015 was an early harvest producing very little crop, yet what was picked is spectacular. Across the palate it is a big wine, lush with gorgeous pure flavors and a long, persistent finish that brings to mind notes of warm cherry. Although still very young, the structure and balance of this wine makes it compelling to taste now and bodes well for age-ability. This will be one of the star vintages of the decade.
Expect to find deep aromas of cassis, black cherry, incense, dark chocolate, caramelized oak, toffee, and the Buoncristiani signatures of balance, depth on the mid palate, and a lengthy persistent finish. Precise amounts of Malbec and Petite Verdot were carefully folded into the final blend to add complexity and depth to the profile. Twenty months aging in 85% new French oak barrels rounded out the palate even further, while adding more texture, aroma and flavor.
The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon 20th Anniversary bottling displays a deep garnet-purple color and bold scents of crème de cassis, blackberry preserves and black cherry compote with fragrant wafts of underbrush, lavender, chocolate box and wild sage. The full-bodied palate is densely packed with bright, energetic black fruits, supported by firm, grainy tannins and bold freshness, finishing long with loads of floral and mineral sparks.
A different beast, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon (100% Cabernet Sauvignon) is more backward and reticent, and while it needs 4-5 years of bottle age, is packed with potential. Both black and blue fruits, earth, tobacco, and freshly crushed rock notes all flow to a full-bodied 2016 that has plenty of fine tannins, remarkable purity of fruit, and beautiful intensity and length. Do your best to give this some bottle age, and you’ll be rewarded with a phenomenal Napa Valley Cabernet that will keep for 2-3 decades.
Stunning color in the glass, anelectrifyingnose showcases black currants, cassis, cigar box and red fruit. The palate is opulent, plush and structured with integrated sweet tannins showcasing notes of dark blackberry, black cherry, and bittersweet chocolate dance through an everlasting and strong finish.
The 2015 Eternity is a spectacular vintage! Opulent in every way, perfectly balanced, a velvety texture, firmly structured...words do not do it justice.
While both the Suckling Report and the Wine Advocate awarded this vintage of Eternity 95pts, at the end of the day, what matters most is that the 2015 Eternity is a vintage to celebrate the ordinary and the extraordinary. That is what an exceptionally beautiful wine is all about. From bud break to bottle, the ’15 Eternity responded beautifully to all the love it received. It was a short, difficult growing year. Yet, as it is often said: well-seasoned growers and winemakers, who deeply understand the collaboration, science and art of winemaking, make all the difference.
A modern expression of Coombsville Cabernet Sauvignon that draws more than a little inspiration from France. On the nose, sweet blackcurrant and soft earth notes invite a second sniff. The palate presents an abundance of luscious black fruit grounded in a savory backbone of earth and dried herbs. Though fully ripe, the wine maintains a wonderful natural freshness and energy with soft, structured tannins and long, dynamic finish.
With an intense ruby caste, our 2017 Jemma has expressive aromatics of elderberries, black currants and a myriad of bramble fruits, peppered with hints of graphite, caramel and thyme. On the palate, it has a lush fruit profile of blackberry compote, plum clafoutis and a basket full of Bing cherries. Muscular and weighty on the palate, the dark fruit character is precisely framed by focused tannins and an enduring, lengthy finish. Aptly paired with a classic Beef Bourguignon or a simple dry-aged New York strip!
