The 2017 Lithic pulls you into a deep dive of ever-evolving aromatics – violets, blackberry, blood orange rind, black cherry, allspice, blue fruit, rosemary, pipe tobacco, black pepper…on and on. The silky entry opens to a broad midpalate, with fine tannins underpinning the entirety of the long, pipe tobacco-raspberry finish. Still young in its development, yet already very impressive, endlessly complex.
The Sumo is a show-stopper. Aromas of ink, mixed berry cobbler, resin, lilies, carob, asphalt, boysenberry, blueberry, black peppercorn. The ultra silky, mouth-filling palate is broad and plush, with sweet blue and black fruit, savory black peppercorn, flowers, tar, and graphite persisting through the very end of the super-long finish.
The 2019 Vermillion sings with aromas of wild strawberry, licorice, blood orange, Earl Grey tea, black raspberry, cinnamon stick, spice box, pot pourri, rose oil. The gorgeous, silky entry opens to layers of berries, dried flower, baking spices, and terra cotta underpinned by fine tannins and a long, sweet and savory finish.
