The 2018 UV Vineyard Chardonnay lures you in with a seductive nose of roasted hazelnut, brioche, lemon curd, Asian pear, white lily and baked pastry crust. An ultra-silky entry, a beam of acidity carries through to the finish. Plush and broad, this wine shows layers of white flowers, lemon curd, pastry flour, toasted hazelnut and honey on an everlasting finish.

The nose has vibrant notes of lead pencil and cassis...a very classic Bordeaux bouquet. The cassis note persists in the palate along with ripe black plum skin and tobacco.

The 2016 Flanagan Cabernet has a compelling nose with a graphite minerality intertwined with orange blossom and cedar notes. The palate has a ripe red currant and black currant, red plum, some savory herbal notes, and lots of structure. The tannins are fine grained and grippy in this young Cabernet. The acidity provides beautiful delineation and tension in the mouth.

The wine is aged in Atelier Centre France and Chassin cooperage for 14 months with 50% new barrels. The Platt site, like Grand Cru Chablis sites, is expressive of the vineyard terrior and reflective of a balanced barrel regime. Each site is allowed to express itself and that means that each of the wines has a unique barrel program and wine chemistry that reflect that particular site in a given vintage.

The 2016 Flanagan Pinot Noir Sun Chase Vineyard displays the characteristic red fruit profile of the site. The nose is dominated by pomegranate, Bing cherry, and red raspberry and those notes continue of the palate. The wine is very pretty, nicely focused, and finishes with good acidity. This is a wine that is easy to enjoy with or without food.

The 2017 Flanagan Pinot Noir Platt Vineyard is a compelling expression of what is widely acknowledged to be one of the greatest vineyard sites in California. The wine has a brilliant color and the fruit character, despite the very cool site, is explosive. The nose offers a rich bouquet of ripe cranberry, cola, and a hint of spice. The palate shows very clean dark red fruit with a silky, persistent finish. Incredible acidity, a beautiful mouthfeel, and an incredible purity of fruit character make this a reference point wine.

The 2018 Flanagan Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast offers an expressive nose of Rose Petals and Orange Blossom. On the palate the wine has very fine tannins, great acidity, and displays flavors of red plum skin and Rainier Cherry. The key to producing top flight Pinot Noir is sourcing from great vineyards. The sites that were the source for this wine have the right climate and soils to produce world class Pinot Noir. The winemaking is focused on balance and allowing the sites and the vintage to express themselves. The result is a wine that is delightful to drink on its own but also excellent with a meal.

If there is ever a no-brainer Pinot, this is it as it contains an ample amount of our single vineyard Pinot Noirs. It has an unusual depth and complexity as a result for our entry Pinot Noir. Ripe bing cherries, cranberry and strawberry notes are followed by subtle oak and well integrated finish. It is ready to be enjoyed now and does not call for bottle age. Dishes such as grilled salmon, duck, ribollita or caldo verde would work well as it is so yummy now. For those who practice reverse days where you have breakfast at night, try it with bacon. Yes, it is spring break season but hardly any of us are of that age anymore so no wine with breakfast.

Vinified in our usual way with leaner, lively Chardonnay in mind, it was fermented and bottled with layered acidity and subtle oak in style. At first, it seems a bit reticent but with aeration, it gains complexity. Actually, like many of our reds, it shows better the next day with fuller body, better structure and complexity. In the nose, it shows pear, lemon rind, vanilla, nutmeg, followed by tightly wound, well focused fruit reminiscent of green apples, citrus, stone fruit.
