Notes of strawberry and tart pie cherry are accompanied by notes of sweet vanillin, toasted hazelnut and coffee as an introduction to this joyfully juicy blend of rich fruit and earthy spice. The wine opens to a well-integrated mid-palate of dark berries, toffee and cassis. The broad palate is elevated and brightened with a mouthwatering acidity that welcomes this wine to the table. Delightful aromatics are enhanced by a refreshingly mineral mouthfeel and lingering finish. A mélange of Asian pear and summer nectarine greet the nose, followed by subtler notes of fragrant white flowers, fresh Granny Smith apples, and tangerine zest. On the palate, citrus-kissed stone fruit complements star fruit and green apple leading to a lingering finish of peach and grapefruit. Pair this with grilled meats, seafood, pastas with olive oil or cream sauces, Asian cuisine...the combination of its rich mid-palate, smooth tannins, and acidic structure make this wine unusually versatile at the table.

Riley's Rows is the project of Eric Flanagan's daughter Riley. Riley grew up with Flanagan Wines, and is now off on her own!

The nose displays a very pretty ripe Ruby Red grapefruit and that follows through in the palate. The acidity is crisp but not overwhelming. The wine has a great mouth feel and nice balance. This is a lovely Sauvignon Blanc and a nice example of what the grape can do in California when it is well farmed, not over-ripe, and made in a balanced way

The 2017 Flanagan Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast displays a black fruit profile, characteristic of the sites used for the cuvee. The nose is dominated by pomegranate, Bing cherry, and red raspberry with hints of clove, nutmeg and orange blossom. These notes continue on the palate. The wine is very pretty, nicely focused, and finishes with good acidity. The Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir engenders a fun debate about whether blending wines from several great sites can produce a wine as, or even more, compelling than a wine from a single vineyard.

The 2017 Sonoma Coast highlights the wild side of Pinot Noir. This wine evokes the smells of walking a trail on the coast through a redwood forest. Notes of dried herbs and sous bois mix with wild berry fruits and cedar. The aromas are further complexed with dried citrus peel, clove, and allspice. The palate typifies the coastal tannin profile, with a robust finish of citrus peel, gravel, and stone. The structured and mineral-driven palate exudes flavors of cherry pit, flowers, and coffee.
