A different beast, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon (100% Cabernet Sauvignon) is more backward and reticent, and while it needs 4-5 years of bottle age, is packed with potential. Both black and blue fruits, earth, tobacco, and freshly crushed rock notes all flow to a full-bodied 2016 that has plenty of fine tannins, remarkable purity of fruit, and beautiful intensity and length. Do your best to give this some bottle age, and you’ll be rewarded with a phenomenal Napa Valley Cabernet that will keep for 2-3 decades.
On the nose, bright Bing cherry, dried Provençal herbs, blood orange and sandalwood are woven together. The palate is impeccably balanced, revealing layers of black cherry, sassafras, boysenberry, black tea leaf, and dried herbs through its persistent finish.
Coming from Napa Valley, the 2016 Proprietary Red Wine is a blend of 46% Cabernet Sauvignon, 29% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc, and the rest Petit Verdot, all aged in new barrels. This cuvée is made with the idea to be slightly more accessible and offers a St. Emilion-like feel in its blue fruits, tobacco leaf, crushed rocks, and cedary, spice-laced aromas and flavors. It’s full-bodied, has a layered, balanced texture, and terrific tannin quality. It’s another powerful yet elegant wine from Keplinger.
The 2014 Estate Cabernet provokes exquisite expectations with its presentation of deep dark sienna and touches of ruby on the rim of the glass. This is followed by an intensely concentrated nose of dark black berries and cassis with additions of cedar, cherries and chocolate. While on the palate you experience a velvety entrance that remains round and rich with layers of cherry, sage, boysenberries, plum liquor and bergamot. Safely said, this beauty will satisfy all of the senses as it lingers for a long finish.

While both the Suckling Report and the Wine Advocate awarded this vintage of Eternity 95pts, at the end of the day, what matters most is that the 2015 Eternity is a vintage to celebrate the ordinary and the extraordinary. That is what an exceptionally beautiful wine is all about. From bud break to bottle, the ’15 Eternity responded beautifully to all the love it received. It was a short, difficult growing year. Yet, as it is often said: well-seasoned growers and winemakers, who deeply understand the collaboration, science and art of winemaking, make all the difference.
Brilliance in shades of deep shiny ruby and mahogany on the rim encourage a pause as you enjoy the sheer beauty of this wine. The explosion of aromas; lilacs ensconced in dark chocolate, layers of blueberry, graphite & maple syrup, will continue to enhance the experience. Finally, enjoy a dense, but soft entrance, concentrating on the palate with a fine granular tannic frame, with touches of chocolate powder, blackberry, fresh raspberry and Jordan almonds remaining with a long, delicious finish.
The 2017 vintage will again dazzle you with brilliant hues of diamonds and gold as well as inviting aromas of pear, cassis, mango, honeysuckle and almond paste, topped off with hints of meringue and lemon pie.
