Our 2016 Jemma is marked by a deep ruby hue, with brooding, intense aromatics of spice and smoked charcuterie, laced with a dark fruit profile of cassis, pomegranate and bing cherries. Muscular and weighty on the palate, the intense fruit character is precisely framed by polished tannins and an enduring, lengthy finish. A happy pair with an impromptu date night and steak frites!

The 2016 Alexis Skye Pinot Noir marries the two unique expressions of its vineyard sources seamlessly. The long, slow growing season of the Sangiacomo Family Roberts Road vineyard in the Petaluma Gap imparts deep, dark flavors, while the Catie’s Corner vineyard in Russian River Valley has a lightness of being that’s impeccable. With a deep ruby hue, the nose is replete with fruits ranging from red to black—dried cranberries, raspberries and dark cherries, as well as subtle floral notes of violets and wizened rose petals. Upon further observation, images of a hillside picnic with house-made soppressata and strawberry pie leap to mind. The palate is expansive with notes of blackberries, rosemary and cigar box, finishing with incredible focus and intensity, yeta broad palate weight

The 2015 Vintage provided beautiful fruit. Because of a cool foggy spring we had very low crop yields. This resulted in especially concentrated fruit from the steep hillsides in Bennett Valley. We harvested our 2015 Merlot on September 13th, which, was even earlier than 2014. The volcanic hillsides that are the source for our Merlot produce very small berries that have tremendous intensity and structure. Farming at the highest level, picking for balance, and making the wine with minimal intervention all contribute to what we believe is one of the top Merlot wines made in California.

The 2015 Vintage started with a cool spring that limited crop yields severely...especially in the Sonoma Coast. The lower crop yields produced an intense vintage with riper fruit profiles. Platt 2015 yields were 53 tons for the 31.3 acres of vines or about 1.8 tons per acre.
