This Cabernet is full of multi-layered deliciousness. You’ll adore the compote fruit flavors laced with spiced leather, chocolate, blackberry and marzipan oak character. A big, full-bodied expression of Cabernet! A celebration-favorite when paired with herb-spiced turkey and cranberries or grilled pork loin with apricot chutney.
The 2019 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon is energetic and vibrant with layers of black cherries, and licorice. Rounded out with hints of cedar, white pepper and mountain sage. A beautiful representation of a Howell Mountain Cabernet!
A blend of Coombsville and Yountville fruit, this wine is Julien’s interpretation of classic Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley. Charismatic blackberry, boysenberry and sweet spice aromas on the nose expand into a broad, full expression of mocha and bright black fruits, with inviting wild blueberry and black raspberry notes. Fine-grain, mineral-driven tannins provide elegant structure to this graceful wine as it glides toward an irresistible finish of dark chocolate, espresso, and dried blueberry.
This Napa Blend is drinking wonderfully now and will age beautifully for many years. The aroma explodes with ripe cassis, blackberry, plum and a hint of cedar. The intense dark fruit is complimented by subtle hints of clove, toast, and soft vanilla. The palate is full and round with silky tannins that envelope the intense core of fruit that carries through to an incredibly long finish.
Stop! If you are holding a weapon, that will not be necessary for this bottle. Once you do get past the foil and the closure, you will find a ripe, plush, easy-on-your-eyes and palate Pinot Noir. It has a bouquet of forest floor, raspberry liqueur, stewed cherries and farm stand strawberries. It has a sweet core of ripe fruit and subtle oak. If you have C19(or not), you may think merlot or Cabernet Franc but if you do have C19, now would be a great time to enjoy all the corked wines and not this. The problem with this wine is that it is too easy to open another bottle. After all who can resist this rich and lush wine? If you have too many, you will be less rich but a lush for sure.
This vintage is showcasing what a picture perfect growing season imparts on a wine; nuance, brightness and depth. Unique to Coombsville, the wine has a complexity and texture that is lifted and woven together with a fresh and vibrant acidity, leading to a long and lingering finish. On the nose, dark blue fruits with notes of sweet leather and baking spice are prevalent. Flavors of raspberry, cherry, dark chocolate, and hints of dried herbs round out the palate. This wine is elegant and rich and an incredible example of what the Coombsville AVA has to offer.
The 2020 Kerner is bright and fresh with notes of apricot and citrus flowers, layered with hints of beeswax and a bit of mandarin. On the palate, this beautiful white wine exhibits crisp green apple and lemon flavors, followed by a sweet core of peach and pear. The mouthwatering acidity is rounded out by surprisingly complex palate weight making this a versatile wine that pairs with a variety of foods or simply enjoyed on its own.
Baking spice, marmalade and rich cherry pie layer the mouthfeel. Ripe fig, tobacco leaf, and a slightly smoked meat quality in the finish. Round and supple with velvety tannins. Good structure should reward aging over the next decade.
An elegant and seductive perfume of white peach, ginger, and dried sage ascends, leading to a rush of Asian pear, lemon marmalade, and tropical lychee flavors. A layer of crushed chalk minerality and brioche-like toastiness emerges as the wine opens in the glass. Delightfully balanced with a bright and zingy acidity, backed by a rich and full-bodied texture that allows this Sauvignon Blanc to get better with each sip.
The 2019 Riley’s Rows Sauvignon Blanc was sourced from the Redwood Valley Grape Ranch which was farmed in Mendocino County. The wine offers a bright nose of Papaya and Honeydew Melon. The palate opens with ripe Meyer Lemon and resolves into a delightful Ruby Red Grapefruit note.
Continuing the trends of the last few years, here is another riper version of Pamplemousse with a lively, refreshing acidity. Its signature grapefruit aroma is accompanied by white flower, melon and beeswax as well. Instead of laser focused fruit, it shows ripe grapefruit, and stone fruit with noticeable skin tannins in the finish. It is creamier than usual and while it will develop, it’s hard not to enjoy it now. This will be a perfect afternoon beverage on your hot summer day. Watermelon Gazpacho, Spanish melon soup, oysters on the half shell, smoked fish are some of things to look forward to paring with.
