The Buoncristiani brothers created the series “Artistico” to fuse winemaking passion with other forms of art expression. Our Syrah label features original artwork to complement our blend for each vintage.
THE CORE represents the very best of Buoncristiani Cabernet Sauvignon from the 2012 vintage. Each year the four Buoncristiani Brothers craft multiple single vineyard Cabernet Sauvignons from premium Napa Valley vineyard blocks, and THE CORE is the culmination of meticulous blending of carefully selected lots. Choice barrels are folded together slowly over the course of two years, diligently creating a balance of power and elegance, and then captured in bottle without fining or filtration. At the heart of the Buoncristiani portfolio is THE CORE.
Derived from the tip of the Brown Estate Vineyard in Chiles Valley, my partnership with the Brown family has allowed me to source from one of the finest Zinfandel vineyards within Napa valley. This particular piece, the Sugarloaf block, lies directly beneath a steep, north-facing knoll.
The Korte Ranch is a classic old St. Helena Vineyard, planted around 1910, that is 100 Years ago! Korte Ranch is head-trained and dry-farmed planted on the St. George rootstock and produces wonderful Zinfandel from the gnarly old vines.
Intense aromas of black cherries and plums, with hints of black pepper and tea leaves. Full bodied with supple tannins in your mouth. There is wonderful balance which leads to the long black cherry finish.
Deep purple hue in color, bing cherries and black current packed with classic aromas of earthiness, porcini mushroom and bacon. Coupled with the scent of vanilla crème brulée and beautifully integrated tannins gives this wine a velvety mouth-feel...
"This exciting new blend exhibits a dark purple hue enhanced by the use of Petite Sirah and Malbec with tiers of ripe cherries, fleshy plums, blackberry and blueberry fruit, with a nice spice box of dried sage, cloves, cinnamon and cedary notes. This well-structured wine has beautifully integrated, firm and fine grain tannins which gives this wine a velvety mouth-feel with a complex and lingering finish."
The wine's deep ruby color is a sign of concentrated aromas and flavors to come. Classic Pinot Noir aromas of rose, raspberry and cranberry are complimented by pomigranete rose petals, carmelized sugar, smoke and a hint of earth.
A savory character of smoked meat on the nose balanced with notes of Black Mission figs, cinnamon and thyme. Great acidity on the palate with flavors of wild cherry, cracked pepper, crushed dried herbs and black licorice.
The palate is rich, round, and generous, showcasing layers of plum, cranberry, and dried cherries, earth, cola, along with a brighter layer of cherry, cassis, roundly spiced with tobacco, black tea, and graphite.
