The palate is rich, round, and generous, showcasing layers of plum, cranberry, and dried cherries, earth, cola, along with a brighter layer of cherry, cassis, roundly spiced with tobacco, black tea, and graphite.
The wine is well-spiced and tannic, with a bright acidity lifting the palate through to the finihs. The nose opens to dark fruits--plum, black cherry, and cassis--intermingled with fresh and dried floral notes, rich earth, mushrooms, baking spices, cedar
A potpourri of cedar, allspice, plum, floral cherry notes layered upon blackberry and cassis. The palate possesses opulent texture with lush undertones of dark chocolate and earth. The wine exhibits the layers that make Coombsville Cabernet Sauvignon so multidimensional. The small crop in 2015 has made for a wine with great underlying structure and all the concentration to age with grace. The wine is approachable now but will continue to evolve over the next 4 – 10 years if one desires.
