If there is ever a no-brainer Pinot, this is it as it contains an ample amount of our single vineyard Pinot Noirs. It has an unusual depth and complexity as a result for our entry Pinot Noir. Ripe bing cherries, cranberry and strawberry notes are followed by subtle oak and well integrated finish. It is ready to be enjoyed now and does not call for bottle age. Dishes such as grilled salmon, duck, ribollita or caldo verde would work well as it is so yummy now. For those who practice reverse days where you have breakfast at night, try it with bacon. Yes, it is spring break season but hardly any of us are of that age anymore so no wine with breakfast.
Upon opening, it shows youthful energy with vibrant, ripe dark fruit, purple rim. Complex flavors of blackberry, cassis, chocolate and spice, it shows excellent balance and bursting fruit that after a few hours, slowly reveals the underlying mountain tannins and high density. It was aged in a high percentage of new French oak and handled with utmost care, so we hope you do the same in your cellar. Much like the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon, it would benefit from bottle age but aerate for at least a few hours for early consumption. It probably will evolve into a vintage closer to 2013 or 2014. Hope you can lay it down for a long time, but if you need to try it now, aerate and sip over 2-3 days as on the third day, it truly shows how mouth coating and expansive it can be.
Unlike the last few vintages of Mosaique, this is mostly Cabernet Sauvignon with a little bit of Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Initially it seems like a wine with so much fruit—cherry, blackberry, toast, herbs and vanilla. It shows both complexity and finesse. As it aerates, it shows a backbone of tannins but this is not about oak but purity of fruit. As with our Cabernets, it does show fuller and more complex the second day
A Sauvignon Blanc with tension and focus, it shows aromas of nose of grapefruit,melon and white flowers. It is lively and complex, showing an exquisite balance of fruit and acidity with flavors of meyer lemon, apples and, of course, Pamplemousse. It finishes clean, though at room temperature its waxy skin tannin shows, and perhaps a slightly bitter peach pit. While it is easy to quaff on a warm afternoon, we have been surprised at its structure. It will be interesting to watch it develop over the next few years as it sheds its acidity and gain complexity.
Continuing the trends of the last few years, here is another riper version of Pamplemousse with a lively, refreshing acidity. Its signature grapefruit aroma is accompanied by white flower, melon and beeswax as well. Instead of laser focused fruit, it shows ripe grapefruit, and stone fruit with noticeable skin tannins in the finish. It is creamier than usual and while it will develop, it’s hard not to enjoy it now. This will be a perfect afternoon beverage on your hot summer day. Watermelon Gazpacho, Spanish melon soup, oysters on the half shell, smoked fish are some of things to look forward to paring with.
Classic notes of cherry and sweet grenadine with sustained French oak and plenty of vanilla on the nose, followed by a rich, fruit forward mouthfeel typical of the 2015 vintage. Very gentle tannins on the finish – an easy drinking and pleasing vintage awaits you!
The deep, dark garnet hue of this wine reveals the beauty and power to follow. Enticing dark plum, boysenberry, cinnamon, maple syrup, and the fragrance of clean, wet earth all beckon from the glass. Showing a beautiful harmony on the palate, notes of ripe berry and cherry fruit are accented by hints of black pepper and dark chocolate. Firmly structured yet silky tannins are incredibly well-integrated, and the finish is long, luscious, and mouth-watering.
The 2018 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon brims with black currant, violets, plum and black cherries with threads of honey, pipe tobacco, cedar, cloves and vanilla. This wine's lush core of bright blackberry, toffee, dark cherry, cocoa, hazelnut and caramel complement its luscious full body. A wine of great energy, length and finesse.
Deep purple-red hue with a magenta rim. Aromas of currant and blackberry coulis laced with clove, cocoa powder and fresh cracked pepper. Savory notes of sandalwood, yerba buena and bay laurel provide an earthy undertone. Characteristically mouthwatering umami and chewy tannins create a broad, enveloping finish.
Vibrant garnet red with dense core. Entices with aromas of black cherry, raspberry jam, dark chocolate truffle and savory clove. Soft and broad on the palate with mouth-watering fruit, balanced by earthy undertones.
Subtle notes of cedar and dried herbs add dimension. Fine tannins make for an elegant finish. Lush and enjoyable upon release.
The 2019 vintage presents a medley of tropical notes and generous texture, all framed by refreshing acidity. Floral aromas of stone fruit, lemon oil and grapefruit rise above hints of cantaloupe and fresh papaya. Vibrant and complex, with a creamy voluptuous mid-palate and laser-focused finish. An expressive vintage that will continue to develop in the bottle for the next several years.
