2014 Cabernet Sauvignon (Napa Valley) is a delicious, juicy wine to drink now and over the next handful of years. Black cherry, plum, mocha, cloves, new leather and cedar give the 2014 much of its succulent, inviting personality. This is an especially bold, racy style, but it works. Drink 2017-2026.
The 2014 Proprietary Red exhibits plenty of chocolate, crème de cassis, soft tannins, low acidity and a dense ruby/purple color in a medium-bodied, elegant, fleshy style. Drink it over the next 15-20 years.
The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon (Rutherford), from Georges III, is supple, silky and nuanced. This is an especially floral, red-toned Cabernet from Georges III. Sweet red cherry, plum, spice and rose petals are some of the signatures. Silky, polished tannins add to the wine's considerable appeal. There is a lot to like here. This is one of the most finessed, gracious Cabernets from Georges III that I have tasted in some time. Drink 2018-2024.
Very well balanced. The 2014 "Nobility" is delicately layered with aromas and flavors of honey, apricot, vanilla, pear, toasty oak, fig, tobacco, and a balanced acidity that carries through to a rich, honeyed finish.
A pure and powerful expression of Napa Valley’s best. The very limited production of 300 to 450 cases of Roy Estate Cabernet Sauvignon is the end result of the meticulous efforts of our entire vineyard and winemaking team. Our single vineyard, Estate grown Cabernet Sauvignon is a sophisticated wine of striking complexity, deep concentration and substantial structure. Built to last, this wine is aged up to 28 months in Taransaud new French oak barrels to heighten complexity and deepen aromas. Our Roy Estate Cabernet Sauvignon has garnered consistent praise from wine experts and critics for every single of its vintages.
This 2014 Proprietary Red is an intensely aromatic wine with loads of dark fruit, blueberry, raspberry jam, blackberry and black cherry. The mouth is extremely elegant, yet round and voluptuous with notes of currant, cherries, spice box, camphor and scorched earth. This dense wine has purity with its supple tannins creating that signature Roy finish that lingers. Enjoy how it develops and evolves as it opens in your glass.
The wine you are about to enjoy is produced by M.H.M. Wine Company of Napa, a very small wine venture started by Eric B. Mercier, who moved to California from his native Québec back in 1991. The 2014 vintage was produced from 100% Napa Valley fruit by the talented Rolando Herrera of Mi Sueno Winery.
Bright racy red fruit followed by layers of cassis, blackberry and dark chocolate. Complex and elevated aromas of fresh herbs, plush tannins and mouth coating texture slowly evolve in the glass toward deeper denser flavors. Enjoy this wine now for its exotic personality and approachability, or lay down for a few years to appreciate its evolving depth and nuance.
Complex aromas of plum, dried cherries, kirsch, and mocha are but precursors to the opulent juicy fruit on the palate. A broad flavor palette of cocoa, black cherry and cassis frame the soft, textured wine that is at once sleek, balanced while dense and lingering in its finish. Its approachability begs for near term consumption while its lively balance offers promise of more to come with time.
“Our 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon is a dense and serious representation of Napa Valley. The concentration of this wine is an expression of the drought experienced by the vines during the 2014 growing season. Upon bottling, licorice and wild blackberries fill the glass along with nuances of camphor, biscuit and toffee.” Winemaker – Daniel Person
